OMG. For a small intimate space Locale has an explosive menue sweet family atmosphere. I had a BIG BALL. Talk about ACDC. I was tempted (dont tell my AA sponsor) with the smooth wine. To take home its $44.00. At this rate ill be doing the dishes. Absolutely try out the potatoe salad. You can even hold private events and have cooking lessons. Omg i smelt the stretch soup. Now on my to do list. I ring up before my singing lesson every week for my favourite potatoe salad that i thought was a cillian potatoe bake. What a wonderul warm italian family experience. Laura & Mario are wonderful cheerful restrauntuers. See that trolley??? Bono!!!

I become obsessed with this cafe after having lunch with colleagues here. Their pastas are top notch and made daily. The seasoning is just right for me that I can have pastas everyday! I’m now counting how many different pastas I would taste! Maybe should try their cafe menu some time but I’m not bored with their pastas yet. Hoping they can open on the weekend so I can take my family to dine here

We at SOL - School of Languages have had the pleasure of collaborating with Locale Newstead on many fantastic events, such as Carnevale al Locale, Sicilian wine tasting, cooking classes, Buongiorno Italian Breakfast, and Granita Day. Every event has been an incredible success, something truly appreciated by our students! The professionalism of Laura, Mario, and their amazing staff is always exceptional, creating a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere. For us, introducing our students to the cultural aspect that a language carries is fundamental, and with Locale, it really feels like going to Italy without needing a plane ticket! And of course, Mario's creations in the kitchen—from pasta to pastry—are simply incredible! Now, with a Sicilian breakfast and lunch menu available, we can enjoy even more of that authentic gusto siciliano right here in Brisbane. Grazie di cuore for bringing Italy—and especially Sicily—so close to our community of Italian culture and language lovers. We look forward to many more cultural experiences together!

Second visit: Came for a meeting today and had a long black. It had great intensity and depth. It was strong but smooth. Gorgeous cremar too. The biscotti was delicious too. First visit: Fantastic little place. Run by Italians. The food is delicious. We had the carbonara breakfast, crab pasta and the teramisu French toast. Tried two of the wines which are from their family winery in Mt Etna. Both the premium white and rosé were delicious however the white is more complex which I preferred. I'll definitely be back. Can highly recommend.

Best Cannolli I have ever tasted. Thanks to my good friend Nick for recommending this to me, he most graciously gave my wife and I the custard and ricotta cannolli to try. We loved it, very fresh, very crisp. I never tried the Ricotta before, that was quite unique for me, I will be back for more.

Good Meal. Had the smashed avo with poached eggs and was very nice with balsamic glaze underneath and eggs cooked well. Service was ok and atmosphere was average. Overall pretty good experience food definately the winner.

Visiting Locale has slowly become a weekly tradition on my day off work. If you want somewhere that gives an explosive feel to the taste buds with a traditional Italian family feel then this is the place to go. I can’t recommend it enough, the food is perfection and if you want to be in Sicily without actually being there then I highly recommend here especially their granita with panna and brioche. Every mouthful takes me back to sitting in my parents hometown in Sicily, with memories rushing back like it was yesterday. Seriously you need to try this place - oh and did I mention they also do catering. Personally I would give Mario, Laura and the crew a 20/10

Such a delicious menu and quality of personal service for my mum's 95th birthday lunch. Mario and Laura brought everything, served everything and cleaned up. They did an amazing job and were also an absolute delight! The cake was spectacular too! Grazie!
